Academics at FAWE Girls' School Gisozi
FAWE Girls' School follows MINEDUC's Competence Based Curriculum (CBC), which calls learners to learn by doing, researching, and kindling curiosity in what they study. This is achieved by making classes an open space of intellectual exchange, practical studies in modern laboratories, and experiential field trips.
By shifting the focus from rote memorization to active student participation, our faculty empowers young women to lead discussions, collaborate on scientific research, and apply classroom concepts to real-world challenges. This rigorous framework ensures our students develop the critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills required to thrive in a rapidly advancing global landscape.

Available Options
Ordinary Level (O-Level)
This cycle lasts for three years (Grades 7 to 9) and builds on the foundational knowledge from primary school. Students study a broad range of core subjects before choosing their specialization for upper secondary education.
Advanced Level (A-Level)
This cycle lasts for three years (Grades 10 to 12), during which students narrow their focus and specialize. Historically, students at FAWE pursue one of the following rigorous combinations:
- MCB: Math, Chemistry, Biology
- MPC: Math, Physics, Computer Science
- PCM: Physics, Chemistry, Math
- PCB: Physics, Chemistry, Biology

Assessments & Certification
Successful completion of secondary school leads to the award of a Secondary School Certificate. National Examinations are conducted at the end of both O-Level and A-Level to assess readiness to advance to higher educational tiers.
2026 Curriculum Reforms Update
Following Cabinet-approved reforms, the traditional subject-combination system is transitioning into three broader learning pathways: Mathematics and Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Languages. Core competencies including Mathematics, English, ICT, and Entrepreneurship remain mandatory across all paths. The rollout begins with Senior 4 students, while current Senior 5 and Senior 6 students complete their existing subject combinations.
💡 FAWE Gisozi Mandate: Aligned with our core mission to empower girls in STEM, FAWE Girls' School Gisozi has exclusively adopted the Mathematics and Sciences pathway.
